A new beginning
- The Tutorial Sector has been retired. New characters now begin their journey directly in the main universe.
- Faction members automatically enter the starter sector belonging to their faction.
- Free Explorers choose between the three faction starter sectors. This choice only determines where their ship enters known space and does not bind them to the selected faction.
- Characters who were still inside the former Tutorial Sector will be directed to an appropriate starter destination the next time they enter the game.
- Every new captain now receives a message from their Faction Liaison introducing the essentials of their first journeys: the sector map, ship status, inventory, missions, resources, combat and home locations.
Tutorials
- Guides remain available at any time from the Tutorial menu and can now be followed directly in the main universe.
- Guidance covering home locations, respawning, Jump Gates, elections and territorial warfare has been updated for the new starting experience.
- Temporary modules specific to the Tutorial Sector have been removed. Guides now use your actual ship and equipment.
Achievements
- Welcome to the Void is now earned by travelling through a Jump Gate for the first time, regardless of your starting sector.
- Certified Pilot can now be completed without entering a dedicated tutorial sector.
Factions and elections
- When a leader resigns or deletes their character after appointing a successor, the appointment no longer starts an early election. The regular election date remains unchanged, and the interim leader keeps the faction running until then.
- If a leader leaves office without appointing a successor, an election still begins immediately.
- The Leader badge in the faction window has been renamed Faction leader.
Missions
- After completing a mission, rewarded credits now appear immediately in your displayed balance without requiring a page refresh.
